Made with unexpected and luxurious materials and exotic woods, every detail of each backgammon board or table is painstakingly conceived of and handcrafted by me, requiring up to 2 weeks to complete. My clients have used these as decorative room art, wall hangings, poolside trays, and of course, for playing backgammon. I can personalize and customize.

This board (above) is one of the most popular boards. I was inspired over the winter by dreams of French Caribbean islands and the beautiful turquoise blue seas and easy relaxed lifestyle there, so I refer to this style as "St.Barth". The color palette makes me happy even on a grey day.

A great fall afternoon, and this custom board seems at home on this cute little local marina/fishing dock. This is a “Dune Deck” style board, customized to match the client’s room decor.

The great surfing beaches here on the east end of Long Island inspired me for the table pictured above (this is the item the editors of Hampton's Cottages & Gardens chose to feature), so I like to call this style "Montauk".

I wanted the 12 hand designed surfboard points (with vintage Montauk surfboard patterns) to look like they were sitting right on the sand, so I chose a hard to find quilted maple-- known for it's "chatoyance" (a vibrant, moving pattern on the surface). I trimmed it with exotic South American leopardwood, and wrapped an insert of butter maple in the trim.

This playing pieces box has inset of butter maple and leopardwood throughout, and is wrapped in the "sand"-- quilted maple that matches the playing board surface. Olivewood playing pieces are elegant and keep with the organic sense of the piece.

This board was commissioned by a client who sent photos of their own personal surfboard collection— which I replicated with intricate details, down to the brand insignias on the boards. I named this one “Key West” because it’s bright and laid back feeling just seemed to channel Jimmy Buffet.

For the board pictured above, I wanted to capture the sense of a surfboard's life and purpose--- to be in the ocean. This board transports one to the French Polynesia and exotic reefs- so I call it "Bora Bora".

It has 12 distinct surfboard points, most inspired by vintage surfboard styles, then carefully hand dyed a special piece of quilted maple to bring out the incredible "chatoyance" of this wood, resulting in a mesmerizing ocean upon which which the boards appear to float. The board is wrapped in a gorgeous piece of solid olivewood for an elegant and smooth finish. The cradle for playing pieces pictured above is made of beautiful solid olivewood; matching the trim of the Bora Bora playing board.

This board was made for a very tasteful home that has alot of wood and natural colors, so the client wanted a whitewash base and a great variety of surfboards. This board feels like it belongs on the beach in California, so I call it "Malibu".

Initials and other personalization makes a special gift even more unique.

Board in the series above is a highly crafted board with inset pewter design, teardop shaped points, cedar playing surface, inlaid wood, and intricate storage box. This board feels like one would play with it in front of a fire in a log cabin ski house.. so I call it "Montana". I custom made the mahogany table that the board is sitting on to go with it; the tapered legs compliment the teardrop shaped points, and it has a matching maple inset around the perimeter to match the board and box.

The custom table above made to match a rec room in a Hampton’s residence, has a removeable full cover so that the owner can use the table for entertaining or games when not playing backgammon. Called “Manhattan”.

Hand cast and hand poured pewter conch shell points; hand cut and hand patineaed copper teardrop shaped points; silver leaf accents of waves and seaweed. I named this board after the mythical Greek sea nymph: " Calypso ".
