For this board, I wanted to capture the sense of a surfboard's life and purpose--- to be in the ocean. This board transports one to the French Polynesia and exotic reefs- so I call it "Bora Bora".

It has 12 distinct surfboard points, most inspired by vintage surfboard styles, then carefully hand dyed a special piece of quilted maple to bring out the incredible "chatoyance" of this wood, resulting in a mesmerizing ocean upon which which the boards appear to float. The board is wrapped in a gorgeous piece of solid olivewood for an elegant and smooth finish.

I finish all of my pieces with several layers of carefully hand-applied clear resin (which requires several days and alot of skill to get it just right!)—allowing a real sense of depth and dimension from the points I create—while imparting a smooth, glass-like, yet resilient, playing surface.
